Instead of a model, today I’m featuring a gay male nude erotic photographer, Mr. Michael Harwood. If you’re like me you’re smirking at his last name and wondering what happened to the ‘d’ (Har(d)wood). But if you’re normal and not so dirty minded (or maybe more dirty minded), you’re saying, “Shut up, Brian! Just gimme the cock!”
These photographs were all taken in my apartment, a rambling, rent-stabilized Chelsea walk-up, with a large eat-in kitchen. Some years ago, I discovered its utility as a stage for this work – a setting conducive to narrative, metaphor and even humor, as well as a stimulating and disinhibiting environment for the models.
The men are friends and acquaintances of diverse and distinguished professional backgrounds. My method is collaborative and improvisational. My style is casual, intimate and painterly, which entails the use of low light and fast film.
I create these photographs as evidence of particular erotically charged events, rather than artifacts crafted with an audience in mind. Yet, they have proven to be eminently audience worthy – and much appreciated by the models I work with. —Michael Harwood

Hey Brian – Just Googled myself and found your post. Many thanks!
Glad to know I’m not the only one who shamelessly Googles himself. ;)
Thank YOU for the awesome photos.
