Since the start of Answered Prayers, Jake Jaxson has been lacing secret messages, clues, and “Easter eggs” in his miniseries ANSWERED PRAYERS. He’s incorporated many symbols and hidden messages taken from mythology, art, new age, astrology, religion, classical literature, conspiracies, and secret societies — all designed to provoke and stir the curious mind.

I really enjoyed taking the time to look at the deeper meaning behind Answered Prayers. I posted my essay submission on my blog: http://amarthur.blogspot.com/2015/02/as-above-so-below-essay-on-unexpected.html

It was amazing to follow this project since the beginning and I can’t wait to see how it all ends! <3

I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to participate in the contest but time just wasn’t on my side. I did want to add my thoughts on the films which indicate the direction my contribution would have taken.

While I agree with others who focused on the good/evil aspect of Answered Prayers, I can’t ignore the strong symbolic references to the Freemasons which helps to solidify my assumptions that the masons are a gay-friendly club. As a woman, I will never know for sure, as they keep the secrets of their male only club closely guarded to members only, but I can’t help but think that at least some part of that organization is open to the gay community.

My reasoning is this: Human sexuality is on a spectrum with some being completely to one side and others falling somewhere in the middle. To be gay is not a new trend by any means and yet, it is only now just starting to become accepted. That means for generations, gay and bi-sexual men have had to keep their sexual preferences private and I just can’t help but think that someone at some point in history was smart enough to think “Hey, there’s got to be a better way”.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt that there are leagues of men who, sadly, go to their death beds having never known the blessing that is sexual freedom. That still happens today. I just can’t wrap my head around the idea that for so many years so many would remain completely silent.

To me, the Freemasons would be a safe haven for gay and bi men to be themselves and to meet others in their communities. And I’m not saying that every member is gay. I see them as an open minded club who accept all men who share similar values. Those values being upstanding, professional contributors to society, whom at their very core embrace the uniqueness of who they are.
